An Inspiration
When I went to Cosmetology school I was in it for the art, self-expression and the ability to change the way someone looks in order to make them happier. I looked at lines the way I did when I would sketch a dress. I liked to analyze and build from the ground up. It was never "from the book" for me, and maybe that's why becoming a hairdresser didn't work out in the end for me. But designing, being creative and working in my field now I can still see those characteristics shining through.
Vidal Sassoon passed away yesterday at the age of 84 and he indeed lived a long life of creating beautiful shapes and silhouettes through the use of hair. He changed the way people saw a haircut, the way women wore them and the way society looked at beauty. I remember learning about him and just thinking "Wow". I was always so amazed and encouraged by his work and stance on things. It was a very exciting and energetic time.
Here at Richard Nicholas Hair Studio we hope he continues to inspire creative people that want to take the not-so-normal things to the next level.
Thanks Vidal,

Let’s flow…
Happy Thursday!
We were productively pinning today and came across this lovely image... We just love everything about it. The B&W makes it pop, the flow of the hair, the blonde in the air. All of it is just so pretty.
What are some of your favorite B&W images? We'd love to add them to our inspiration boards!

Happy Snowy Saturday!
Where did the snow come from!? Oh well, we're plugging away at the salon today making all of snowy Philadelphia look good! Our Saturday inspiration is the classic and always sexy Marilyn Monroe.
Who are some of your favorite bombshells?
Baby Blues.
Found this hot shot on Pinterest today! Although it is a crazy color, wild make-up and very bright, we think there is something quite stunning and soft about it. What do you think? Would you dye your hair this color? Share your thoughts on this fun look!
