It’s hard to imagine, but fall really is just around the corner.
While you’re squeezing out all of the last-minute summer fun from these last few weeks, you’re probably also thinking ahead to how you want to switch up your look for autumn. To get you started, here are a few ideas for great cuts that you’ll want to consider.
If you went pixie short for summer, you have the option of choosing something in between your pixie and a short bob. A cheekbone length cut gives you the best of both worlds and doesn’t make you look like you’re just trying to grow out a short-short cut. You can take it classic with a taper and a shaved neck, or rock it up with some texture. For a slightly longer cut, there’s a retro short shag with feathered ends.
For those of you who already have a bob, there are some great ways to shake it up. Keeping the back at a longer length and angling the front upwards around the face results in a choppy, unfussy look that highlights your hair’s natural texture. Going in the opposite direction, you can bring up the back into an A-line bob with a long side part in the front. Adding waves, or highlighting your own natural curls, brings it up to date.
Longer hair also sporting more layers à la the 70s shag. Blunt, choppy layers scattered throughout the cut give it a lot of movement and texture. For thicker hair, blunt cut ends in the back and graduated layers in front give your hair more freedom to move.
